Driver Disregarded Crossing Gates Before Being Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Train: Officials
A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 struck the vehicle at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park just before 9:30 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. A preliminary investigation found that the crossing gates were working as intended and were in the down position when the driver drove the vehicle around the gates and positioned the vehicle into the path of the train, Mulumba said. A drunk driver was arrested after they crashed into a light rail train on the early morning of Friday, Oct. 25, authorities said. At 12:15 a.m., a Hudson-Bergen light rail vehicle was struck by the vehicle at Paterson Plank Road crossing near 2nd Street station in Hoboken, NJ Transit said. The operator of the light rail vehicle claimed back pain and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, NJ Transit said. Man Fatally Struck By Train In Rahway: NJ Transit
A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 15 in Rahway, authorities said. The man was struck at 7:45 p.m. by Northeast Corridor train 3963, which had departed Penn Station New York at 7:12 p.m. and was set to arrive in Trenton at 8:36 p.m., NJ Transit said. There were no injuries to the 450 customers and crew on board, NJ Transit said.. Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coastline service was temporarily suspended resumed with up to 90-minute delays in both directions, NJ Transit said. New Jersey Transit Police are investigating.

Careless Bus Driver Strikes 13-Year-Old Girl, Father: Police
A 13-year-old girl and her father were hospitalized after being struck by a bus in Rahway on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 10, authorities said. At 8:23 p.m., the two were crossing the intersection when they were struck by the NJ Transit bus, which was turning from Elizabeth Avenue onto West Scott Avenue, Rahway police said. A train operator was killed and multiple others hurt after a tree fell on an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 14 in Burlington County. A person trespassing on the train tracks in Newark was electrocuted on the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 12, authorities said. A man was shot and killed at the New Jersey Transit station in Long Branch, authorities said. Long Branch police responded to the train station's platform at around 7:39 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson said. Bus Driver, Passenger Arrested After Physical Fight: Newark PD
A bus driver and a passenger were both arrested on Friday, Aug. 16 after they got into a physical altercation in Newark, authorities said. At noon, police responded to a report of a fight aboard a NJ Transit bus at Broad Street and Lafayette Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The passenger spat on the driver after a verbal altercation, Fragé said. Both were charged with aggravated assault, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.
