Dog Who Captured Hearts After Being Struck By Car On NJ Highway Almost Ready For Adoption A dog hit by a car earlier this month on Route 4 is nearly ready for a fur-ever family. Stella was struck by the vehicle in Hackensack on Oct. 13 and taken to Oradell Animal Hospital, where she was treated for broken ribs and a fractured pelvis.  Stella has been transferred to the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro, where officials said she needs between four and six more weeks of recovery time before she can be adopted out. Late NJ Ballerina Michaela DePrince's Mom Died Within 24 Hours After Her A day after learning of ballerina Michaela DePrince's sudden death, her family has revealed that her adoptive mom passed away within the following 24 hours, according to a Facebook post, and confirmed by the family to Daily Voice on Saturday, Sept. 14.  Elaine DePrince of Cherry Hill, NJ died "after many years of battling a hereditary disease and heart failure," as stated in the post.
