Quick-Moving Winter Storm Now Sweeping Through Northeast: Here's Latest Timing

A new winter storm packed with rain along with sleet and some snow is now sweeping through the Northeast.

The storm will move from west to east starting Wednesday night, Feb. 26 with precipitation continuing at times on Thursday, Feb. 27.

The system is moving from west to east Wednesday night, Feb. 26 with precipitation continuing at times on Thursday, Feb. 27, according to the National Weather Service.

It will arrive after several days with above-average temperatures.

For a look at precipitation types by region, see the image above from AccuWeather. Most locations will see about a quarter-inch of rain before the storm winds down Thursday afternoon.

After the storm pushes out, the month with close out with a mostly sunny day on Friday, Feb. 28 with seasonable temperatures.

Temps will rebound to above-seasonable levels through the first half of the weekend on Saturday, March 1, before colder air returns on Sunday, March 2.
