'Loud Bang' Leads Police To Drunk, Reckless Driver: Denville PD
A 31-year-old Rockaway woman was arrested and charged with drunk driving following a crash on Sunday, Dec. 22, authorities said.
That day, officers were alerted to a "loud bang" on Indian Road and Route 53, Denville police said. Officers discovered a crash with the driver, Kristen Cobb, still inside the vehicle, police said.
Following an investigation, Cobb was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, police said. Cobb was also issued summonses for reckless driving and careless driving, police said.
NJ Trio Ram Police Car In Stolen Vehicle, Police Say
Three people, including two juveniles, were arrested on Sunday, Dec. 29 for driving a stolen car in Township of Union, authorities said.
At 5:20 p.m., officers discovered the stolen car near the Galloping Hill Mall at 1350 Galloping Hill Rd., Township of Union police said. Officers surrounded the car with the goal of blocking it to prevent a pursuit, police said.

A juvenile was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 14 after they assaulted two police officers in Clinton Township, authorities said.
Officers responded to a family dispute on Runkie Drive after a juvenile threatened family members, Clinton Township police said. While officers were detaining the juvenile for safety reasons, the subject remained combative and subsequently assaulted two officers, causing physical injuries, police said.

Hoboken Lululemon Loses $39K In Merch To Thieves, Police Say
Multiple shoplifters are at large after stealing items from a Lululemon in Hoboken on eight different incidents this year, authorities said.
The shopliftings occurred between Friday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Nov. 26, Hoboken police said. Each time, the shoplifters entered the store at 313 Washington St., took multiple items, and left without paying, police said.
The thieves made off with more than $39,000 in merchandise, police said.

Police are investigating after a woman abandoned a black hound mix in need of urgent medical care at a Sussex County animal shelter on Thursday, Dec. 26, officials said.
At approximately 10:55 a.m., the woman, described as having black hair and wearing a green Jets hoodie and mask, entered the shelter and threw the dog’s leash at a staff member. She fled the scene, shouting, “Sorry, his name is Roscoe.”

Hoboken police said eight people were arrested at the annual event on Saturday, Dec. 21, where people dress up as Santa Claus for a bar crawl, a spinoff of the popular event held every year in New York City (scroll down for details).
