A 24-year-old Galloway Township man was sentenced to 35 years in state prison on Wednesday, March 5, after previously being convicted of sexually abusing a girl over the course of seven years, authorities said.
The man, whose name is being withheld to protect the victim, was convicted of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, showing obscene material to a minor and endangering the welfare of a child last July, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

A bomb threat at Atlantic City Airport earlier this month led to a dramatic standoff and the arrest of a 38-year-old Egg Harbor Township man, authorities said.
The incident began on Jan. 10, at approximately 6:56 a.m., when New Jersey State Police responded to a bomb threat at the airport in Egg Harbor Township, Atlantic County, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

A man and his dog were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Atlantic County, authorities said.

New Jersey health officials are reporting an additional six cases of West Nile Virus including two deaths, and two presumptive viremic blood donor (PVD) cases in the state.
The six new WNV cases are residents of Bergen, Camden, Cumberland, Hudson, Mercer, and Middlesex counties (one 50+, two 60+, one 70+, two 80+). The two individuals who died were older adults from Cumberland and Mercer counties, the DOH said.
