Motorcyclist Killed After Being Ejected, Run Over In Route 280 Crash: Police (

A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning crash on Route 280 in Hudson County, police said. Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Silas was ejected then run over by a Dodge, Lebron said. He died as a result of the accident.

Overturned Truck On Route 287 Causes Delays:

A truck has overturned on Route 287 in Morris County on Wednesday, Aug. 14, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. The truck overturned at 7:38 a.m. on Route 287 in Morris Township south of Exit 34, the NJDOT said. Two left lanes are closed, causing a 35 to 40 minute delay, the NJDOT said.

All Lanes Closed After Route 521 Crash:

A crash on Route 521 in Warren County has closed all lanes on Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said. The crash occurred on Route 521 at Exit 12 by Dogwood Road and Blairstown Road in Hope Township, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. All lanes are closed and the exit ramp has also been closed as police remain on scene, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. Emails have seen sent to the Blairstown Police Department and Warren County Prosecutor's Office requesting additional information.

Police in Rutherford are investigating a Route 3 crash that they say was likely caused by a driver in the express lanes trying to cut across to the local lanes Sunday, Aug. 11. Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc across New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 9. As of 2:30 p.m., thousands of residents were without power and multiple roadways were closed due to downed wires and related crashes. One lane northbound remained blocked on Thursday, July 25 at about 1:45 p.m. north of Interchange 7A in Robbinsville, according to the NJDOT. A 45-year-old Easton, PA man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Tuesday, July 2, authorities said. At 10:04 p.m., a BMW motorcycle traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Greenwich Township struck the back of a 2017 Toyota Camry, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was ejected and was subsequently struck by a 2020 Toyota Camry, killing him, Marchan said.
