It's Newark Airport like you've never seen it before. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has revealed plans to upgrade the airport with hopes of transforming it into a "world-class getaway" with modernized terminals. $7.5M In Back Wages Paid To 865 Utility Workers Who Restored Power In NJ After Tropical Storm
The 865 utility workers who restored outages in New Jersey following Tropical Storm Isaias in August 2020 will be getting $7.5 million in back wages, state officials said. NJDOL Division of Wage and Hour Compliance investigators found that workers deployed by Pike Electric Inc. of Mount Airy, N.C., were paid less than the rate required by the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act during the recovery efforts. A California man is facing drug charges in New Jersey after authorities found him with 50 kilograms of popular party drug MDMA at a New Jersey truck stop. A ShopRite employee has detailed the situation the brought a major police presence to a New Jersey ShopRite on Saturday night, Oct. 12. A Lawnside ShopRite employee said a couple was arguing loudly around 6:50 p.m. The man was holding a knife to his female partner's stomach, the employee said. A Pennsylvania-based lab has been ordered to pay $7.3 to the state of New Jersey after overcharging New Jersey’s Medicaid program for urine drug testing services, officials said. Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories (ADL) in Bensalem violated Medicaid regulations when it charged Medicaid as much as $1,035 per drug test while charging other payers as little as $2.38 for the same test, New Jersey's State Comptroller's office (OSC) said citing an audit report. A 25-year-old New York woman has been named "Fugitive of the Month" in one New Jersey county. Angely Betancourt has been charged with reckless death by auto and causing death while driving unlicensed in the July 4, 2022 crash that left one person dead on Route 287 southbound access ramp to Route 78 west in Bedminster, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The crash, which happened just before 12:25 p.m., was investigated by New Jersey State Police. The department did not immediately return Daily Voice's request for comment.
