Shameik "Homeboy" Byrd, 31, who’s currently serving a state prison sentence, told a federal judge via videoconference in Newark that the death of 25-year-old Kean Cabral of Warwick was caused by heroin from the batch of “Trap Queen” that he’d been selling. In Cold Blood: Paterson Dealer Gets 40 Years For Killing NY Buyer, Wounding Companion A 22-year-old Paterson man who shot a New York State drug buyer dead and pumped four bullets into a woman who was with him will be in his 60s before he’ll be eligible for parole after being sentenced Friday. Jurors in September 2018 convicted Zamaire Barden of murder, attempted murder and weapons offenses following a trial in Paterson that lasted nearly a week. Mahwah Driver, 32, Killed In NY Crash A 32-year-old Mahwah man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Orange County, NY early Tuesday, authorities said. Joseph R. Farina was headed east on School Road in Monroe when his 1996 Toyota Avalon collided with a westbound 2013 Acura TL driven by 67-year-old Patrick J. Early of Warwick around 7:20 a.m., New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. Farina was pronounced dead at the scene, the trooper said.  An investigation was continuing, he said.
