Missing Juvenile Located, Arrested For Stealing Vehicle: Berkeley Heights PD
A missing teenager was located and subsequently arrested for stealing a vehicle on Monday, Oct. 21, in Berkeley Heights, police said. Bernards Township police notified surrounding municipalities of a missing juvenile from a residential school within their township, Berkeley Heights police said. The juvenile was found at a family member's residence in Berkeley Heights hours later but fled prior to the arrival of the police, officers said. Walgreens To Close 1,200 Stores
Walgreens plans to close about 1,200 stores over three years amid a decline in prescription drug payments and a rise in online competition. About 500 closures will come in 2025, the company announced in a statement released Tuesday morning, Oct. 15. Specific sites for store closures were not announced. Six Walgreens stores in South Jersey were among 20 nationwide to get fake bomb threats on Thursday, June 28, authorities said. One was in Evesham at 11:35 a.m. when a caller contacted the store on Route 73 reporting an explosive device was inside, Evesham Township police said in a press statement. Nothing Bundt Cakes, the nation’s largest specialty cake company, plans to open a second bakery at the Jersey Shore. The newest bakery will be at Aldrich Plaza in Howell replacing the Howell Academy of Dance, a spokeswoman said. The chain of about 500 bakeries already has a shop in Toms River, Ocean County. Police are looking for an armed man in a tan Nike hoody who allegedly stole $5,100 from a South Jersey Walgreens pharmacy, authorities said. The robbery took place on Sunday, May 29 at 10:14 p.m., Bridgeton police said. Police responded to the Walgreens at 25 E. Broad St. for a report of a robbery. A Central Jersey woman was arrested for using counterfeit cash at a Walgreens store in Connecticut, police said. Khadijah Latifah Tabitha Greene, 29, of East Brunswick, apparently used the money at the New Canaan sore last March, Lt. Marc DeFelice said. Greene was taken into custody on Thursday, Dec. 15 by New Canaan Police and charged with larceny and forgery, DeFelice said. She was processed and released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Dec. 29.

The spill occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6 and extended the entire length of Herbertsville Road in Point Pleasant Beach, initial reports said. New Trader Joe's Coming To Freehold
There's a glimmer of good news on the retail circuit: A new Trader Joe's wholesale grocery store is coming to Route 9 in Freehold this year. Other tenants at Pond Road Plaza include DSW, Michael’s and Petco. The Trader Joe's store is expected to move into 12,588-square-feet of vacated space previously occupied by Walgreens. The pharmacy closed in 2015. It was previously reported the company was interested in expanding into the Monmouth County town as early as the fall. Trader Joe's already operates a store on Broad Street in Shrewsbury.
