Grand Lakewood Rabbi Rav Matisyahu Chaim Salomon Dies Throngs of people were expected at a funeral service for an esteemed rabbi in Lakewood Wednesday, Jan. 3. Grand Rabbi Rav Matisyahu Chaim Salomon, a longtime leader of Beth Medrash Govoha Yeshiva, a Haredi Jewish learning institution, died on Tuesday, Jan. 2. He was 86 years old. Gov. Phil Murphy was among those who offered his condolences after Rabbi Salomon's death. "I share in the pain over the loss of Rabbi Matisyahu Salomon and send condolences to the BMG Yeshiva community and so many who followed his teachings," Gov. Murphy posted on Twitter. "May his memory be a blessing." …
