Police ID Electric Scooter Rider Struck, Killed On Route 1
A 22-year-old man on an electric scooter was struck and killed along Route 1 in Edison, authorities said. Raul Montoya-Chavez, of Edison, was hit in the southbound center lane of Route 1 at about 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 as he tried to cross at Plainfield Avenue, Edison police said. Montoya-Chavez died of his injuries at an area hospital, police said. The 61-year-old Rahway man driving the SUV had a green light and is not expected to be charged, police said.

31-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim Killed In Route 27 Crash
A 31-year-old Franklin Township resident was killed in a crash last week in Central Jersey. Kristen Drayton was identified as the driver of the southbound vehicle that had slammed into a tree on Route 27 near Reler Lane just after 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, May 9 in Franklin Township, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said. South Jersey Truck Driver Killed In Garden State Parkway Crash
An Ocean County man was killed when his tractor-trailer went off the Garden State Parkway in Atlantic County, authorities said. Brian Ross, 60, of Brick Township, died in the crash on Thursday, May 9, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the wreck near milepost 43.3 on the Garden State Parkway North in Galloway at around 12:05 p.m. Investigators said Ross's Kenworth tractor-trailer went off the parkway and crashed into several trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene. State police are investigating the crash.

Crash Closes Route 27 In Central Jersey (

A crash closed all lanes of Route 27 in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 9:30 a.m. north of Route 682 (Finnegan Lane) in Franklin Township, according to the NJDOT. Route 27 between Cozzens Lane and Finnigan's Lane remained closed during an investigation, according to Franklin Township and 511nj.org. "Expect heavy delays," the township said in an alert. A traffic light was down in Holmdel after a crash near an exit for the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. An 80-year-old Princeton woman was injured and cited for careless driving after causing a two-car crash in Montgomery on Thursday, May 2, authorities said. At 12:52 pm, the woman was driving a 2009 Honda northbound on Route 206 near Applegarth Road when she rear-ended a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck that was stuck in traffic, Montgomery police said on Facebook. South Brunswick police have released the name of the driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday, April 23.
