Motorist, 35, Killed In 4-Vehicle Crash In Burlington County A 35-year-old driver from Burlington County was killed in a four-vehicle collision, authorities said. Based on a preliminary investigation Rafael Colin Salinas, of Tabernacle Township, was operating a Nissan Titan south on Route 206, according to New Jersey State Police. The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. Monday, June 26. Salinas stopped to make a left turn onto a property, State Police said. A Freightliner M2 was being operated behind the Nissan Titan. Somerset County Driver Killed In Late-Night Crash At Rt. 22 Intersection A Somerset County driver was killed after colliding with another vehicle at a Route 22 intersection late on Wednesday, June 21. Charles Young, of Somerset, was driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler and hit a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by Wallace Wilder of Charlotte, North Carolina, in the westbound lanes at the intersection of the MetLife facility in Bridgewater around 11:58 p.m., police said. Young was pronounced dead at the scene. Responding agencies include the Bradley Gardens Volunteer Rescue Squad and Robert Wood Johnson Hospital’s Paramedics. The crash occurred at 4:54 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20 when the 70-year-old driver of a Honda CRV made a left turn at the intersection of Route 206 and County Road 670 in Springfield Township, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan The southbound Yamaha motorcycle collided with the Honda in the intersection, he said. The motorcyclist's name had not been released pending notification of next of kin. The Honda driver was treated for minor injuries, Marchan said.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Jersey Shore: Police A 78-year-old woman from Pennsylvania was struck and killed by a Jersey Shore motorist, authorities said. On Monday, June 12 at 5:10 p.m., the woman from  Springbrook Township, PA was crossing Bay Avenue at the intersection of 9th Street in Beach Haven, police said. The driver of the vehicle, an 82-year-old man from Venice, FL, was traveling north and had a green light, police said. No charges had been filed.

Garbage Truck Driver Ejected, Killed In Parkway Crash Police have identified the garbage truck driver killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway.  Bayville resident David Mello, Jr., 56, was heading south in a Peterbilt 320 garbage truck when he ran off the road to the right near milepost 82.8 in Toms River, around 1:20 p.m. Friday, June 9, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Serious Crash Reported On Garden State Parkway A serious crash was reported on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, authorities said. The crash occurred at 11:26 a.m. northbound in Eagleswood Township, New Jersey State Police said. Preliminary information indicates in the area of milepost 60.5, the driver of a Toyota RAV 4 lost control and came to rest in the roadway, according to Lt. Lawrence Peele of the State Police. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, he said. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, he said. The crash remains under investigation. One left lane was blocked, according to 511nj.org.

I-287 Southbound Closed After Truck Flips, Dumping Dirt In Central Jersey (Photos) A dump truck overturned closing all southbound lanes of Interstate 287 in Central Jersey in a multiple-vehicle crash, authorities said. The crash occurred at 2:06 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 at milepost 1 in Metuchen, according to Sgt. Philip Curry, a spokesman for the the New Jersey State Police. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash including a dump truck that overturned and spilled dirt across the roadway, Curry said. No serious injuries were reported and I-287 was re-opened approximately 2.5 hours after the crash occurred, he said.
