A beloved local North Jersey gas station owner died after a battle with COVID-19, those who knew him said. Anthony Balloutine, 42, of Totowa, died on Nov. 23 after several weeks of fighting COVID-19 and pneumonia, according to a GoFundMe launched for his family. Rugby player Tevita Bryce moved to the US after his mom died of cancer over the summer. But things are only getting more challenging for him. The Montclair Rugby Football Club player, 28, collapsed during a game against Morris Mens Rugby Saturday, according to an Instagram post by MRFC. Woman, 89, Found Dead, Vehicle Running At Totowa Home, Carbon Monoxide Suspected
An 89-year-old Totowa woman was found dead of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning at her home Saturday afternoon. A family member found Ethel Rosskopf unresponsive on the kitchen floor and a vehicle with its engine running in the garage of the home at Knollwood Road and Meadow Drive, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Carmen Veneziano said in a joint announcement. Rosskopf was pronounced dead at the scene.
