Michael Cerrachio of Little Egg Harbor reportedly swerved into traffic before the fatal crash on Wednesday, Sept. 27, Toms River police said. Teen Boy Dead, Sister Rescued After Sand Collapses In On NJ Beach An 18-year-old boy died and his 17-year-old sister was rescued when sand collapsed in on them while they were digging at a New Jersey beach Tuesday, May 17, authorities said.  Levy Caverley, of Maine, was identified as the victim by Toms River police. He and his family were spending the afternoon at the beach, and he and his sister were digging a hole near the Seaview Road entrance on the barrier island when it collapsed in around 4:10 p.m., local police said. Toms River Driver, 43, Trapped, Killed After Convertible Snaps Utility Pole, Flips Over A 43-year-old man from Toms River was killed on Tuesday after he lost control of his convertible and struck a utility pole head-on, authorities said. Roy Piazza was driving westbound on Route 571 about 5:10 p.m. when his 2005 Chrysler Crossfire slid across the road and struck the pole head-on at the intersection of Whitesville Road and Leawood Avenue, Toms River police said.  After the pole broke into three pieces, the Chrysler flipped over, police said. Jackson Motorist Indicted In DWI Death Of Toms River Man A 55-year-old man from Jackson was indicted for vehicular homicide Wednesday in connection with a fatal car accident last fall. Douglas Thompson's charges stem from an Oct. 15, 2019, drunk driving crash that killed Thomas Marciano, 65, of Toms River, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer. Marciano was stopped behind another vehicle making a left-hand turn near Route 9 and Stevens Road when his car was struck from behind by a vehicle operated by Thompson, police said.  Marciano was transported to Community Medical Center and subsequently flown to Jersey …
