Man, 23, Found Hanging In Tree Of Family's Front Yard In Lakewood, Police Say
A New Jersey man was found hanging in the front yard of his family's home over the weekend, police said. Lakewood officers responding to a home on Cedar Street found the 23-year-old man hanging from a tree in the yard, Lakewood Police Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said. Life-saving efforts were unwarranted and the man was pronounced dead. The investigation is considered closed.

A shooting death in Middlesex County on Wednesday, Sep. 18 has been ruled a suicide, authorities said. The victim's family member called 9-1-1 around 2:45 p.m., bringing Carteret police to Pershing and Union Avenue around 2:45 p.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. A Pleasantville man shot a woman before he died by suicide, authorities said.
