2 Injured, 1 Critically, In Somerset County Fire: Prosecutor
Authorities are investigating the cause of a Somerset County fire that hurt two residents, one critically.
The blaze broke out at a home on Mountain Avenue in North Plainfield around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, June 4, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said alongside local Police Chief William Parenti.
Two men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where one of them remained in critical condition, McDonald said.
The cause of the fire was being investigated but did not seem suspicious, the prosecutor added.

A Bayonne man who provided bogus papers in a car trade was apprehended after a police pursuit, authorities said.
Raymond Piel Jr., 23, was charged with eluding and theft by deception, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson and Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor.
