Social media tributes and condolences have poured in for devoted Toms River dad Dominic Piccini, who died on Tuesday, March 7 aged 30. Originally from Philadelphia, Dominic attended Toms River High School North, his Facebook page says. He is remembered as a compassionate and caring friend to many and “could make you laugh at your worse times,” his obituary reads. Lyndhurst PD: Fleeing Couple Risks Public Safety, Captured With Help From Kearny, JC Police
A fleeing shoplifter put the public at risk by speeding off from pursuing Lyndhurst police and then crashing her car in Kearny, authorities said. A manager confronted Kiana Brooks, 28, of East Orange and 21-year-old Movado Thomas of the Bronx when they tried to leave the Stop and Shop on Lewandowski Street with about $200 worth of stolen merchandise around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Detective Sgt. UPDATE: County Executive Jim Tedesco warned that all of Bergen could soon go on virtual lockdown in response to the coronavirus the way Teaneck did on Sunday. Gov. Phil Murphy ordered all New Jersey schools closed by Wednesday.
