UPDATE: Four people were wounded -- one seriously -- when gunfire erupted at a Clifton nightclub before dawn Friday, authorities confirmed. The gunman remained at large following the 2:47 a.m. June 16 shooting inside the Made In Miami Bar & Bistro on Harding Avenue, law enforcement sources told Daily Voice. Two Passaic residents and one from Wayne were charged with stabbing one of two city men during what authorities said was a planned attack. Being held in the Passaic County Jail pending initial court appearances this Wednesday in Superior Court in Paterson are Sergio Xochiulacuamatzi, 26, Christian Martinez, 21, both from Passaic, and Richard Arriaga, 25, of Wayne. Two men were stabbed in an overnight fight in the city of Passaic, authorities confirmed. Police found one victim, 29, at the scene of the call on Van Buren Street off Lexington Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman said in a joint release. Eight Firefighters Hospitalized In Passaic Blaze
Eight firefighters were hospitalized with heat exhaustion Monday after rescuing 20 or so residents – several of whom were trapped – during a roaring Monday afternoon blaze that ravaged two homes and damaged others in Passaic. Seven of the firefighters are from the city and the eighth is from Wallington, Passaic Mayor Hector Carlos Lora said. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening, he said. A Door Dash driver survived after she and her car were swept through a blocks-long underground tunnel and into the Passaic River during Monday's storm, city police said. Nathalia Bruno, 24, of Newark told police she was delivering food when her car got caught in a flash flood near the Benson Avenue tennis courts. An unthinkable outcome was avoided after a woman left her two young children in her car while she ran into a Passaic bodega on Wednesday, authorities said. Disabled Vets Group Praised By Murphy Could Lose Liquor License For Alleged COVID Violation
A North Jersey group publicly praised by Gov. Phil Murphy for distributing free meals to disabled veterans and hospitals is now fighting to keep its liquor license after investigators cited them for violating the governor’s emergency closure orders.
