Murder Suspect From Paterson Captured At Route 17 Motel In Mahwah
One of two brothers wanted for a Paterson homicide was captured shortly before noon Friday at a Route 17 motel in Mahwah. Modino Garcia, 42, and Wilfredo Garcia, 20, had been sought for a May 27 shooting outside St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson that killed one 20-year-old man and left another wounded. Another Paterson Shooting, With Two Struck, Brings Overall Victim List This Year To Nearly 70
It's happening every day now: Two more victims were wounded in an overnight shooting in Paterson. And as so often happens, both got themselves to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center following the shooting at the corner of Godwin Avenue and Straight Street around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday. One of them, a 22-year-old man, was injured seriously, responders said, adding that a 17-year-old was also wounded. Neither was cooperating with investigators, they said. That makes nearly 70 people wounded by gunfire in Paterson so far this year, 15 of whom died.

A Union County man who went to Paterson thinking he was buying a car got shot in the leg and robbed instead, city police said. The 41-year-old Kenilworth victim drove himself to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, responders said. Ongoing warfare continued to escalate in Paterson when two men were critically wounded and another injured in a street corner shooting Friday night. Jack-Knifed Tractor-Trailer Jumps Median On Route 80
A tractor-tractor jackknifed and jumped the median on Route 80 in Paterson overnight Saturday. The mishap left the trailer on on side of the highway and part of the rig on the other part near westbound Exit 58 around midnight. Two lanes were temporarily closed on the eastbound side and one on the westbound. An ambulance took the driver to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. Firefighters summoned a hazardous materials unit to tend to a fuel spill.

Paterson Man Stabs Woman, Jumps To Death From Roof
A Paterson man critically stabbed a woman before jumping to his death from the roof of a nearby building, authorities said. The body of Esaul Morales, 38, was found on the sidewalk after he stabbed the 26-year-old victim in a Cianci Street apartment around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. One Dead, Four Wounded In Paterson Shooting, Black Truck Sought
UPDATE: A 25-year-old Paterson man was killed and four other young men wounded overnight Thursday in an apparent drive-by shooting. Authorities were looking for a four-door black truck that sped down Jefferson Street following the shooting at the corner of North Main Street just after midnight.
