200 South Jersey Walmart Workers Facing Layoffs
Walmart is laying off more than 200 workers in South Jersey this spring, according to a state notice. A WARN notice filed with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development says that as of June 2, Walmart is eliminating 201 jobs at its Pedricktown distribution center in Salem County. The big box company will lay off hundreds more workers in California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas, according to Reuters. Walmart recently adjusted staff levels "to better prepare for the future needs of customers,” a company spokesperson said in a statement.

Two Storms Bringing Snow, Rain To New Jersey
A pair of storms heading to New Jersey will bring mostly rain and some snow this weekend and early next week, forecasters say. Parts of Morris and Sussex County could see up to six inches of snow that will begin to fall overnight Friday, March 10 into Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The Navy is investigating whether aircraft carrier training in Maryland caused mysterious noises in South Jersey, NJ Advance Media reports. A 19-year-old woman was killed and two others were hurt after a deer caused a crash on Route 94 in Sussex County Sunday night, state police said. Boat Captain's Body Pulled From Margate Waters: Report
The body of a popular boat captain was found floating near a dock in South Jersey, NJ Advance Media reported. Edward Cairns, 71, was found dead between the dock and marshland during low tide at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, near Graef Boat Yard on Longport Boulevard in Egg Harbor Township, the outlet said. A dangerous fugitive wanted in a South Jersey killing for nearly three decades has been extradited back to Atlantic County from Mexico, authorities said. Francisco Martinez was once featured on "America's Most Wanted" television series. He was considered one of New Jersey’s most wanted criminals. Two men were found dead in a garage with the car running in South Jersey, NJ Advance Media reports. The bodies of the 18- and- 50-year-old men were found by a Millville resident coming home from work inside of the garage at a home on the 2000 block of Wheaton Avenue (Route 555) around 2:45 a.m., the outlet said citing local police.
