31-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim Killed In Route 27 Crash A 31-year-old Franklin Township resident was killed in a crash last week in Central Jersey. Kristen Drayton was identified as the driver of the southbound vehicle that had slammed into a tree on Route 27 near Reler Lane just after 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, May 9 in Franklin Township, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said. Truck Bursts Into Flames Near Route 287 Multiple fire departments descended on Somerset County on Friday, May 3, after a tractor trailer caught fire, sending plumes of smoke into the sky. Firefighters responded to Union Avenue near Route 287 in Finderne and were able to extinguish the tractor trailer fire along with three additional cars on the trailer, the Finderne Fire Department said on Facebook. A tractor trailer was engulfed in flames in Finderne. Finderne Fire Department Facebook Manville EMS and the Somerset County Haz-Mat team also responded, firefighters said. There were no reports of any injuries.

This one had an epicenter just east of the Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone (Somerset County). A 2.9 magnitude aftershock was reported last Saturday, April, 27 in the same area. People as far as Massachusetts and Connecticut reported feeling the earthquake, but it appeared to have been clearest felt in the Garden State, with Boonton, Caldwell, and Carteret residents reporting a II or III on the MMI scale.
