Two Boaters Rescued At Night From Sailboat Stuck Along Jersey Shore, Firefighters Say Two people were rescued from a sailboat caught in choppy waves at night off the coast of Brigantine, officials said. A 35-foot sailboat got stuck in shoals at around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, the Brigantine firefighters union said in a Facebook post. The boat was sailing from Barnegat to Absecon Inlet. Missing NJ Boater Reunited With Family After Week Adrift A boater out of Jersey City was reunited with his family last week after he went missing sailing to Bermuda, the Coast Guard said. No one had heard from the mariner since Monday, Nov. 6, and the Coast Guard Atlantic Area command center began a search and rescue effort, the Coast Guard said.  Another ship, the Time Bandit, heard an alert, and on Wednesday, Nov. 15, found a vessel that matched the description of the missing boat, the Coast Guard said. 4 Clinging To Overturned Jersey Shore Sailboat Rescued By Fdny, Nypd: Coast Guard Four people clinging to an overturned sailboat were rescued overnight, the US Coast Guard said. The vessel, dubbed "Eagle," capsized off the coast of Sandy Hook sometime around 1 a.m. Sunday, July 30, when a distressed call came in, the agency said. The vessel reported they had run aground and were taking on water. A Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook crew and Coast Guard Cutter Beluga (WPB-87325) crew were launched to search for the Eagle.
