Trail Of Terror: Prison For NJ Man In Ocean, Burlington County Crime Spree A New Jersey man who left a trail of terror across county lines in a crime spree involving attempted kidnapping, sexual assault, and high-speed police chases has been sentenced to over a decade in state prison, officials announced. Quamel Benton, 36, of Farmingdale (Monmouth County) was sentenced on Jan. 10, to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for attempted kidnapping by Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Unlicensed Jersey Shore Man Ran Red Light, Injured 4 In Fiery Toms River Crash: Prosecutor A 33-year-old man from Ocean County has been charged with aggravated assault and assault by auto in a crash that injured four people, one critically, authorities said. Charles Sharkey Jr. of Jackson Township is accused of running a red light with a suspended license before the crash, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. He also may have been using his cell phone at the time of the fiery rollover crash, the prosecutor said. Sharkey was charged with multiple other offenses, Billhimer said.
