The word "love" is in his name, and according to those who knew him, that's exactly what he embodied. Mike D'Amore was being mourned by many after an ATV crash that killed him in Lacey. D'Amore, 58, of Jackson, was riding on a 2019 Polaris Razor side-by-side off road vehicle, in an open dirt area of Lacey Materials when he hit a dirt embankment and went airborne around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, local police said. Retired Nun Of 67 Years Dies In Parkway Crash
The 88-year-old driver killed in a weekend crash on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County was identified as a retired nun of 67 years. Sister Joan Eileen Butler, 88, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Saturday, Dec. 10, at Bay Shore Medical Center, Holmdel, following the crash. Sister Joan Eileen was born in Jersey City. A 13-year-old middle school student was struck and killed by a car while riding his bike in Mercer County Friday, Sept. 9, authorities said. The Melvin H. Kreps Middle School student was found unconscious with severe trauma to the body and head around 9 p.m. at the intersection of West Ward and Mercer streets in Hightstown, local police said. Monmouth County recorded a record number of traffic deaths in July, authorities said. Following a historically deadly summer on area roadways, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey and the county’s police chiefs are urging local motorists to exercise additional caution heading into autumn. Authorities have identified the two people killed in the double-decker Megabus overturn on the NJ Turnpike Tuesday, Aug. 9, authorities said. Cheryl Johnson, 59, of Bronx, N.Y., was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cecilia Kiyanitza, 66, of Woodbury, N.J. was airlifted to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
