Lakewood Man, 25, Arrested For DWI, Driving Without License In Jersey Shore Crash: Police
A 25-year-old man from the Jersey Shore was arrested for driving under the influence in a crash that knocked down utility poles and closed Route 9 in Toms River, authorities said.
On Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 at approximately 11:50 p.m., Toms River police were dispatched to the intersection of Route 9 and Cox Cro Road for a motor vehicle accident.

A Haworth nanny and an infant she was pushing in a stroller were struck Wednesday by a van driven by a FedEx worker from Rockland who fled the scene, authorities said.
A police sergeant in neighboring Demarest stopped David Gutfeld, 56, of Airmont a short time later, Haworth Police Chief Michael Gracey said.
The child was OK, but the 55-year-old nanny had to be hospitalized, Gracey said, adding that the entire incident was captured on home security video.

Updated: Jersey Shore Motorcyclist's Leg Severed In Toms River Collision
A motorcyclist from Ocean County was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center after a serious collision on Route 70 in Toms River, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the state route's intersection with Whitesville Road, according to Jillian Messina, a spokeswoman for the Toms River Police Department .
