Wildfire Near Lakewood Country Club Threatens Homes, Roads Amid Fire Concerns (Developing) A wildfire in Lakewood has grown to 30 acres, prompting road closures and putting six nearby homes at risk as firefighters work to put out the flames. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service said it's working to contain the wildfire burning near Pine Park and the Lakewood Country Club that started on Monday, Nov. 18. The fire was zero percent contained as of around 3 p.m. The wildfire has closed Clearstream Road between Brewers Bridge and Hope Chapel Road, officials said. Dump Truck Plows Into Jersey Shore Home, Downs Power Lines A dump truck toppled a utility pole and smashed into a house in Ocean County, authorities said. A 55-year-old truck driver crashed into the home at the intersection of McLean Avenue and Route 35 North at 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, Point Pleasant Beach police said.  The operator of the truck, Ronald Bennett, of Point Pleasant, was treated at the scene by the Point Pleasant First Aid & Rescue Squad and taken to the hospital, police said.
