Toms River Company Among 19 NJ Businesses Who Owe $1.1M In Unpaid Dues, State Says
Nineteen businesses who owe a total of $1.1 million have been barred from public contracting until they pay back their dues, the New Jersey Department of Labor said. R.A. Florio Building Contractors Inc., of Toms River, for example, has been ordered to pay $39,555.57 to the state, according to the department of labor and workforce development. The final judgment was given on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020. The contractor is one of 101 total businesses on New Jersey's Workplace Accountability in Labor List, also known as the WALL. Careless Driver, 19, Causes Two-Car Crash: Montgomery Police
A 19-year-old Pennington resident was cited for carless driving after a two-car crash in Montgomery on Wednesday, Jan. 3, police said. At 1 p.m., Montgomery police and EMS responded to Hollow Road, north of Route 518 for a car crash with injuries, officers said. The 19-year-old was operating a Mazda CX9 northbound on Hollow Road when she attempted to make a left turn into a driveway, officers said. School Bus Driver Ticketed After Crash With Subaru In Somerset County: Police
Students were fortunately unharmed and a school bus driver was hit with tickets after colliding with another vehicle Wednesday, May 10, authorities said. The crash occurred at Route 518 and Vreeland Drive in Montgomery Township around 4:15 p.m., according to police. The bus driver, David Rios, 41, of Plainfield, was reportedly heading eastbound on Route 518 and attempting to make a left turn onto Vreeland Drive. UPDATE: A New Jersey massage therapist acquitted by a jury of sexually assaulting a client still had his license permanently revoked, state authorities announced. Jurors found Asmar R. Federal authorities announced charges Monday against an accused Libyan terrorist on the 32nd anniversary of the Flight 103 bombing over Scotland that killed 270 people. 19: Mercer County School Goes All-Remote Due To Positive Case
A Mercer County school is the latest to go all-remote after a COVID-19 case was reported. Hopewell Valley Central High School Central High School in Pennington will be going remote Thursday and Friday, though all other schools in the district will remain open, according to a notice posted on the district's website. All after-school activities will be cancelled and no students or staff will be allowed in the building until Monday morning for a deep-cleaning and contact-tracing, the letter says. It was not clear if the positive case was a student, faculty member or teacher.
