A Facebook video recorded by a civilian was included in recordings released Wednesday by the New Jersey Attorney General's Office as part of a required investigation into the fatal shooting last month of a Paterson man by a city police detective. Jersey Shore Driver Stopped By Garfield PD Jumps Into Passaic River
A Jersey Shore man stopped by a Garfield police officer on Friday hopped out of his car and into the Passaic River, authorities said. Officer Jaroslaw Wdowiak stopped the 46-year-old driver from Toms River in the parking lot of the Custom Gas Station at the intersection of River Drive and DeWitt Street shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wdowiak was returning to his cruiser to write summonses when the driver suddenly got out, dashed around a fence and clambered down the riverbank and into the water, Deputy Police Chief Ronald Polonkay said. A Bergen County woman who was sentenced to life in prison for the infamous hacking death of her husband in Rockland County was headed to live with her sister in Hackensack this week after a federal judge granted her a compassionate release. Police: Nodding Lyndhurst Driver Crosses Bridge From Nutley With Heroin, Xanax, Urine
A Lyndhurst driver had several heroin folds, Xanax – and two small bottles of urine apparently intended to beat a drug test -- when he was stopped after crossing the bridge back into town from Nutley, authorities said.
