Lakewood Man Accused Of Setting Fires, Robbing Man With Scissors: Prosecutor
A 21-year-old man from Lakewood has been charged with arson and robbery, authorities said. The incidents all occurred on Thursday, March 9, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Charged with arson, robbery and weapons offenses was Ricardo Buitron, Billhimer said. A man said the suspect attempted to rob him with scissors but that he was able to push him away near Lexington Avenue and Fourth Street in Lakewood. A Lakewood man was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped a girlfriend and their child, authorities said. On Wednesday, March 8, Gerson Aguilar-Lara, 24, of Lakewood, was charged with two counts of kidnapping, child endangerment and robbery, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A 47-year-old Ocean County man took a new car on a test drive and didn't return it, authorities said. The 2023 GMC Sierra was later discovered near the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, according to Stafford Township police. On Saturday, Feb. 18, at about 8:15 p.m., Stafford police received a call from Barlow GMC car dealership that a car had not been returned from a morning test drive. A 30-year-old woman from Toms River has been indicted for vehicular homicide in the deaths of two men in a Jersey Shore crash, authorities said. Danielle Bowker also was charged with assault by auto in the fatal crash that occurred in Manchester Township on March 29, 2022, resulting in the deaths of Michael Sadis, 48, of Toms River, and Paul Lamberti, 58, also of Toms River, they said. A 49-year-old woman was sentenced to 45 years in New Jersey State Prison for killing her wife with a wine chiller, authorities said. Mayra Gavilanez-Alectus of Brick Township was convicted during a jury trial of murdering Rebecca Gavilanez-Alectus in May 2020, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
