On Jan. 28, South Brunswick Officer Matthew Hagood was on patrol on Route 1 when he observed a red pickup truck drive by him. The license plate came back as wanted by Bensalem, PA, police in a hit-run crash. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Luke Gendusi,18, of South Brunswick. Brick Officers Struck By Car Breaking Up Wild House Party UPDATE: A pair of Brick Township police officers breaking up a wild house party and street revelers were struck by a vehicle -- sending one of the officers to the hospital, authorities said. Darius Edwards, 24, of Brooklyn, fled in a white Mercedes Benz after hitting Brick Officer Joseph Riccio and a detective overnight Monday, Sgt. Jim Kelly later said. Riccio was treated for a knee injury at Ocean Medical Center, while the detective was not injured, Kelly said.
