Box Of Newborn Puppies Left For Dead Among 2 Animal Cruelty Cases On Jersey Shore
Authorities on the Jersey Shore are trying to figure out who abandoned several puppies. A passerby found a litter of newborn puppies in a box among piles of trash at Collingwood Auction in Farmingdale, the Monmouth County SPCA said on Thursday, March 3. The dehydrated puppies were taken to the shelter, where they were examined and fed. "After a medical assessment, it was determined that the puppies were approximately 24-hours old, some still with their umbilical cord attached," the SPCA said on Facebook. Monmouth SPCA Rescues 30 More Stranded Cats From Vacant Home, Absolutely Deplorable Conditions
Following up on an earlier case, where 20 cats were left outside its Monmouth County shelter, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has rescued another 30 neglected cats, SPCA authorities said. "We followed the leads we were given and were finally able to track down the person who left the cats outside our doors," the SPCA announced on its website. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals seeks the public's help in locating a woman who dropped 20 cats outside its Monmouth County shelter on Saturday. "All 20 of the cats were stuffed into 2 crates without food or water & a note that said their caretaker had passed away," the Monmouth County SPCA said on Facebook.
