Lancaster Native, South Jersey Resident Mark Mattson Dies, 44
Lancaster, PA native and Medford, NJ resident Mark Mattson died on April 22, 2021.
He was 44 years old.
A lifelong athlete, Mark was raised in Medford and as an adult enjoyed playing sports with his father, his obituary says.
Working in culinary arts brought him "tremendous joy and pride," particularly cooking for friends and family, his obit reads.
Mark is survived by his parents, Roger and Elizabeth; siblings, Lisa (Tom) Eastep and Jennifer DiGennaro; nieces and nephews Ellie and Tyler Eastep and Olivia and Luca DiGennaro along with relatives, friends and countless loved ones.

SWAT Standoff: Two Dead As Carlstadt Sex Offender Shoots Ex-Wife, Himself
UPDATE: The 5-year-old daughter of a convicted sex offender who died by suicide after an hours-long SWAT standoff at his Carlstadt home on Saturday was there when he shot and killed his ex-wife the night before, authorities said.
The little girl apparently told her grandparents, who lived upstairs, that James Cox had killed Massiel Deoleo, 34, of Mahwah, in the downstairs apartment of the family's 6th Street home sometime Friday night.
“Daddy killed Mommy,” she told them, but said Cox had assured her that it was only a nightmare, responders said.

Authorities: Pompton Lakes HS Teacher From PA Found Dead At School Of Suicide
A teacher from Pennsylvania who was found dead at Pompton Lakes High School had apparently killed himself, authorities said Saturday.
Although an autopsy was to determine the official cause, the death of Patrick Moccia, 47, of Doylestown, PA, was “believed to be the result of an apparent suicide,” Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Pompton Lakes Police Chief Derek Clark said in a joint announcement.
Police found the body of Moccia, who taught at the school, shortly after 9 p.m. Friday following a search on a welfare check, they said.
