An Air Force veteran from Burlington County has been nominated as the next New Jersey Adjutant General, Gov. Phil Murphy announced. Effective Monday, July 1, Colonel Yvonne L. Mays of Lumberton Township also would become the state's first black woman in the state's history to head up the New Jersey National Guard. Atlantic City Drug Dealer Sold Fentanyl-Laced Heroin To 37-Year-Old OD Victim, Prosecutor Says
An Atlantic City drug dealer was charged in a 2019 overdose death of a 37-year-old victim from Burlington County, authorities announced. Holly Morris met Kahlil Carpenter, 30, in Lumberton Township the day before her death to buy the drugs, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina. Officers on Dec. 14, 2019, found Morris dead in a bed inside her Inverness Circle home in Evesham Township, Coffina said. State Police: South Jersey Woman Illegally Gave Sick Puppy Prescription Drugs
A 46-year-old woman from Burlington County has been arrested for giving medicine to a sick puppy while falsely claiming to be a member of an animal rescue group, authorities said. Dawn Abrams, 46, of Shamong was charged with impersonation, unlicensed practice of medicine and unlawful distribution of prescription drugs, according to New Jersey State Police Superintendent Patrick J. Callahan and Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina.
