12 Swimmers Rescued From Rip Current By Jersey Shore Lifeguards Twelve teenage swimmers were rescued in the Chadwick Beach section of Toms River after getting caught in a rip current. The swimmers reportedly were all on a sandbar when it began to get rough. They were then caught in a rip current. A rescue by lifeguards occurred at about 4:15 p.m. on Sunday June 9, according to a Facebook post by the Chadwick Beach and Yacht Club. "Our guards responded extremely timely, efficiently, and effectively," the post said.
