Police ID Victims Of Triple Fatal Lakewood Crash
Authorities have released the identities of two of the three people killed in a Lakewood crash over the weekend.
Jayla Ortiz, 23, of Lakewood, Ceasia Jefferson, 24, of Neptune Township, and a 17-year-old boy from Lanoka Harbor, were killed in the Saturday, Oct. 7 crash on New Hampshire and Cedar Bridge avenues, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

A Jersey Shore man who tried to strike detectives with his Jeep has admitted to aggravated assault and eluding, authorities said.
Kevin Valverde-Cruz, 21, of Jackson, pleaded guilty to the charges on Wednesday, July 12, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

A 21-year-old man from Lakewood has been indicted in connection with a fatal crash in which the driver was traveling 90 mph, authorities said.
Mordechai Berkowitz was charged with aggravated manslaughter and aggravated assault, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

A 56-year-old man from Toms River has been found guilty of dealing heroin and cocaine, authorities said.
John Williams was found guilty Monday, March 21 following a jury trial of possession of heroin and cocaine with the intent to distribute both drugs, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
Williams was additionally found guilty of possessing cocaine, fentanyl and heroin, Billhimer said.
Williams is set to be sentenced on May 13.

A 39-year-old man from Ocean County has been indicted for murder in connection with the shootings of two men in the head, authorities said.
Tyshaun Drummond of Toms River was indicted in connection with the deaths of Nicholas Hardy, 36, of Toms River, and Sergio Chavez-Perez, 32, of Lakewood, in Lakewood Township, they said.
Drummond also was indicted on weapons charges, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

Four New Jersey residents were arrested for distributing heroin, fentanyl and cocaine following an investigation involving nearly a dozen law enforcement agencies, authorities said Thursday.
Kevin Collins, 37, and Daysha Kelly, 35, operated out of a Pine Beach home, while Elex Hyman, 49, and Jamie Steen, 38, used a Lakewood home, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
