Carole Stevenson Dies In Jackson Crash
A 57-year-old paraprofessional in the Lakewood School District was killed in a Jackson crash early Tuesday, April 9, police said. Carole Stevenson pulled away from a stop sign in a 2018 Kia at the intersection of Toms River Road (Route 571) and Lakehurst Avenue, when she was struck by a 2007 Jeep just before 7 a.m., Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz said. Stevenson was attended to by Jackson EMS, and taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where she died just after 8 a.m., Kunz said. Fatal Toms River Fire Ruled Accidental
The fatal fire in Toms River has been ruled accidental, authorities said. The victim, identified as a Lakewood School District employee, died of smoke inhalation and fire-related injuries, it was reported on Monday. School Media Specialist ID'd As Victim Of Toms River Fire
An elementary school media specialist and mother of three was identified Saturday as the victim of a fatal house fire. Sara Trahey, 33, could not be rescued from the fast-moving fire at her home in Toms River. Her husband, Jeff, and their three young children managed to escape as firefighters arrived late Friday night. The fire broke out about 11 p.m. on 15th Street in the Silverton section of Toms River and rapidly spread to four neighboring houses due to strong winds, authorities said.
