Suspect Arrested In Double-Homicide In Barnegat: Prosecutor A suspect has been arrested in a double homicide that placed Barnegat Township schools on lockdown Thursday, Nov. 2, authorities said. UPDATE: Michael Mulgrew, 34, has been charged with two counts of murder in the fatal stabbings of both of his parents. The incident placed nearby schools on lockdown. Barnegat PD: Fireworks Blast Above Township Like 'Magic Kingdom' Most town-sponsored Fourth of July fireworks were canceled or postponed this summer due to coronavirus concerns.  But residents of Barnegat Township were treated -- or to some residents mistreated -- by 10 times the usual number of amateur pyrotechnic displays, police estimated. At least five people were charged with illegal fireworks possession or use, Barnegat police said.
