Misaddressed Bomb Threat Over Transgender Canadian Teacher Brings Tactical Teams To Glen Rock
A misdirected bomb threat intended for a school more than 600 miles away brought the bomb squad, K-9 unit and SWAT team to Glen Rock on Tuesday. A Central School in Hamilton, Ontario, apparently was the intended target of an email directed to the school of the same name in Glen Rock, borough Police Chief Dean Ackermann said on Sept. 26. A group of towing and mechanic business owners in Bergen and Passaic had a lucrative moonlighting operation going before New Jersey State Police shut them down, authorities said. Workers at the off-hour chop shops in Paterson, Passaic and Elmwood Park altered stolen vehicles for resale and disassembled others to be sold as parts, state authorities said on Friday, June 2. State Police Arrest 8, Seize $118K Worth Of Drugs, Weapons In Cumberland County
New Jersey State Police have charged eight suspects with various weapons and drug offenses. Troopers seized $117,620 worth of drugs and multiple weapons in Cumberland County. While investigating the distribution of narcotics in Cumberland County, troopers from the State Police Metro South Unit obtained information that Jermina Lewis, 48, of Bridgeton, was distributing crack cocaine in the area. Perp Armed With Knife Steals Central Jersey Woman's Car Keys
A perpetrator armed with a knife reportedly stole the keys to a female victim's car in Monmouth County, authorities said. The call came in about 12:25 a.m. near Boundary Road and Big Brook Park in Marlboro, initial reports said. The victim was being taken to an area hospital, a report said. Police: Shirtless Swordsman Wrapped In American Flag Captured After Pursuit Through Bergen Park
An emotionally troubled Woodcliff Lake man armed with swords was captured after a chase through a local park, authorities said. The 28-year-old suspect was shirtless, wearing camouflage pants with an American flag tied around his waist in Wood Dale County Park, callers told police. State Police Chase Suspect By Air, Foot, K-9 Along NJ Turnpike
State troopers in Middlesex County were reported in pursuit of a suspect late Wednesday afternoon. The chase was reported along the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 77.7 in East Brunswick about 4:30 p.m., according to initial, unconfirmed reports. Troopers were reportedly searching for the suspect on foot and with the use of a K-9 unit.
