The family of a 19-year-old worker who died in an accident while stringing holiday lights at Six Flags Great Adventure received a $1.7 million settlement in a wrongful death suit, according to a published report. A 38-year-old Jersey Shore man has admitted to stalking and stabbing a woman last spring, authorities said. Michael Mahan, 38, of Ewing Township, pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated assault and making terroristic threats as well as driving while intoxicated according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A New Jersey resident and associate warden at the troubled jail housing Jeffrey Epstein's alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell has been accused of killing her husband, authorities and news reports say. Two people reportedly have been attacked by a fox in Monmouth County, authorities said. Rumson police are warning residents of wildlife attacks in their borough as well as surrounding towns. The Rumson fox bites reportedly occurred about 8:30 p.m. Saturday near Piping Rock Park, police said. One serious crash, power outages and multiple car fires were reported along the Jersey Shore late Tuesday, authorities said. In Marlboro, first responders from Monmouth County freed a trapped motorist from their car near 126 Crine Road after it struck a tree shortly before 6 p.m., according to initial reports. The fox that bit a 4-year-old girl last weekend in Ocean County tested positive for rabies, Health Department officials said. A vehicle struck a utility pole, toppling live power lines during rush-hour in Ocean County, authorities said. Then he fled, initial reports said. A 43-year-old former youth band leader has been sentenced to state prison for using a secret camera to film a YMCA bathroom shower, authorities said. Multiple Car Thefts Reported In Jersey Shore Town
A town in Ocean County has been hit by an unusually high number of car thefts, authorities say. Jackson Township police are reminding residents to remove any valuables, including cellphones, wallets and purses from vehicles, and to lock them even if they are parked in your driveway.
