Crash Partially Closes I-78 In Somerset County A crash partially closed Interstate 78 in Somerset County, authorities said. New Jersey State troopers responded at 10:41 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 to a crash on Interstate 78 west at milepost 27, in Bedminster, a State Police spokesman said. Based on a preliminary investigation two vehicles were traveling west when one vehicle lost directional control striking the other vehicle, he said. There were no injuries reported. One left lane of three lanes was closed, 511nj.org reported.

The multi-vehicle crash involved two tractor trailers and occurred on the eastbound side at milepost 29.4 in Bedminster Township, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said. The driver's identity was not immediately released and further details were not available. The right lane remains closed for the accident investigation.

Leonardo Man, 37, Struck, Killed By BMW On I-78 In Newark A Monmouth County man was killed when he was hit by a BMW while walking on a ramp to Interstate 78 westbound in Newark, police said. Travis J. Sherman, 37, of Leonardo in Middletown Township, was struck at 8:50 p.m. Thursday as he walked on the ramp leading to the highway from Routes 1 and 9 north, according to New Jersey State Police.
