Woman Charged With DWI After NJ Transit Train Hits Empty Vehicle In Central Jersey
A Long Branch woman was accused of driving while intoxicated after an empty vehicle was struck by a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said. North Jersey Coast Line train No. 4384 hit an unoccupied vehicle in Long Branch at around 8:59 p.m. on Monday, June 3, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The vehicle was struck at the Cedar Avenue crossing between the Long Branch and Elberon stations. A 34-year-old Brick Township man was arrested and charged with breaking into an apartment and snatching jewelry and women's clothing on Tuesday, Nov. 14, police said Officers responded to the Kentwood Village Apartments after a resident saw a man later identified as Joshua Guarino in their apartment via security camera, Brick Township police said. Authorities captured a Waldwick man wanted for assaulting a conductor at a local train station. New Jersey Transit police tracked down DeVaugn K. Dudley, 23, and took him into custody assisted by Waldwick police, said Emma Wright, NJT's senior public information officer. Police: Oakland Man Injured, Charged Playing Chicken With Freight Train
A 35-year-old Oakland man injured himself jumping out of the way of a freight train – and then was arrested, authorities said. The Oakland First Aid Squad treated the man for his injuries after he was nearly struck while with his dog near the Ramapo River shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Lt. Christian Eldridge said.
