Central Jersey High School Student Suffers 'Traumatic Cardiac Event': Fundraiser
A teen in Monmouth County was fighting for his life after going into cardiac arrest, a fundraising campaign said. A GoFundMe page said JJ Machnik suffered a "traumatic cardiac event" on the morning of Friday, May 10. The GoFundMe page had raised more than $39,000 from at least 680 donations as of Monday, May 13. Machnik was rushed to Morristown Medical Center and "coded" on his way to the hospital. He was placed in a medically induced coma to be monitored for 48 hours in the cardiac care unit. School Bus Driver Fell Asleep Before Crashing Into Howell House, No Children On Board: Police
A 22-year-old bus driver is suspected to have fallen asleep at the wheel before crashing into a house in Howell, authorities said. The crash into the side of a house occurred at about 7:15 a.m. on Asbury Road. Lt. Christian Antunez, a Howell Police Department spokesman, said the driver was injured but no children were on board. The driver was later charged with careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt, he said. The driver had just dropped students off at Howell High School, he said. Howell Student Suspended Over Snapchat Photo Of Airsoft Rifle
Police increased security at Howell High School on Wednesday after a student posted a photo of a rifle on Snapchat, authorities said. A student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly posting the photo and threatening remarks. Howell Township police shared the post in which a rifle can be seen between the person's legs with the caption "Don't pu Tomorrow."
