Joyce Wang, of Haddonfield, died peacefully at home on Aug. 5 after a courageous battle with breast cancer, according to an obituary published by Madison Memorial Home. She was 35 years old. A GoFundMe organized by a friend says that Joyce persevered through several types of aggressive and painful cancers, including as a young mother to her now 21-month-old daughter, Hannah. Boat Driver Left Scene Of Crash That Injured Four People Near South Jersey Park, Troopers Say
Four people were hospitalized after a boat crashed near an Atlantic County park, officials said. In a Facebook post, the Dorothy Volunteer Fire Company said it responded to a marine rescue near Estell Manor Park in Mays Landing at around 5:42 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. Four victims were taken to hospitals with their injuries. A state police spokesperson said 37-year-old Daniel Bollinger of Egg Harbor City was driving an 18-foot boat in the South River. Rainbow Hill, a pristine nature preserve featuring an 8-acre lake, hiking trails, and farm fields nestled between Hunterdon and Somerset County, is officially open to the public. Jersey Shore Hiker Collapses, Dies On Catskills Trail: Report
A hiker from New Jersey complaining of chest discomfort and breathing problems collapsed and died while hiking in the Catskills last weekend, officials said. The man was identified by the Times Union as Ravi K. Vegiraju, 50, of Morganville. The incident happened in Greene County in the hamlet of Lanesville around 8:50 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 16. Paul "PJ" Angele of Flemington died on July 30 at Phoenixville Hospital Tower Health in Chester, PA. He was 31 years old. PJ graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School (Class of 2008) and had been working as a handyman for Happy Homes Maintenance the last two years, his obituary says. A 21-year-old New Jersey man is recovering at home after he was bit by a copperhead snake, landing him in the hospital for three days. Kevin Murray of Pennington tells Daily Voice he was two minutes from his car on the way back from a sunset hike at Baldpate Mountain in Titusville when he felt a stinging sensation in his left ankle on Aug. 5. A New Jersey native died while hiking in a national forest. Michael Benedetto La Marca, 39, was hiking at Peralta Trailhead in Arizona's Tonto National Forest when he died Oct. 3, according to his obituary. More than 14,000 acres of the forest he died in was consumed by wildfire on the day of his death, according to the U.S. Forest Service. A 25-year-old Monmouth County hiker has been dubbed the "Calm Queen" by internet users after a video of her slowly walking away from a black bear on a Sussex County hiking trail went viral.
