Three men have been charged with the possession and sale of various drugs on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The Jackson Police Department Special Enforcement Unit concluded a three-month investigation regarding the sale of cocaine and heroin. The investigation allegedly revealed both Franklin Baptiste, 54, of Jackson and Daniel Meadows, 38, of Jackson were distributing both crack cocaine and heroin from multiple residences and vehicles in Jackson Township. Trio Arrested With Fentanyl, Cocaine, Heroin On Jersey Shore
Brick police arrested three men on multiple drug possession and dealing charges. On Monday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m., Street Crimes Unit detectives stopped a vehicle being operated by Ricardo Calderon, 43, of Elizabeth. The stop was related to an investigation into illicit activity on Homestead Drive, police said. Detectives found approximately 100 Fentanyl pills, 9 grams of cocaine and over 100 wax folds containing heroin. Bergen County prosecutor’s detectives seized enough fentanyl to produce nearly 3½ million potentially fatal doses, along with enough heroin to fill more than 27,000 folds, while arresting a Baltimore man. Carlo Francisco Olivar Gomez, a 42-year-old painter by trade, was caught with more than 15 pounds of fentanyl and more than six pounds of heroin, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A rideshare driver from Philadelphia was nabbed with 4,650 heroin folds during a Bergen County traffic stop, authorities said. A 56-year-old man from Galloway Township has been sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey state prison for selling a fatal overdose of heroin laced with fentanyl, authorities said. Brian Whitted was convicted for strict liability for a drug-related death in connection with the 2018 fatal overdose of 59-year-old Anthony Tamburelli, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill.
