Animal Cruelty: Man Caught On Camera Abusing Friend's Dog At Mall In Paramus
A Rockland County man who was dog-sitting for a friend was caught on video punching, kicking and otherwise abusing the baby pit bull at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, authorities said.
Joseph Caraccia, 39, of West Haverstraw, was caught thanks to a good Samaritan who called police to the parking lot of the mall on Tuesday, Oct. 1, Paramus Police Chief Robert M. Guidetti said.
The caller "observed the abuser punching, kicking, and throwing the dog into a vehicle," the chief said.
It was later discovered that the dog -- named Stormy -- is only eight months old, Guidetti said.

An out-of-state couple who targeted parked cars in and around Paramus stole a whopping $28,000 in cash, $50,000 worth of jewelry and $3,000 worth of clothing in one day, authorities said.
Area police were on alert after the enormous haul the day before when Paramus Officer Justin Sicari spotted a blue Nissan Rogue with Florida plates parked at the Garden State Plaza around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
Sicari and Officer Nicholas Perna watched and waited, and eventually saw the couple enter the Rogue and drive off, the chief said.

A 16-year-old Hackensack boy was lured to a mall in Paramus where he was beaten and robbed of $3,000, a jacket and a pair of AirPods, authorities said.
Manuel Pimentel-Reyes, 20, of Hackensack and three juveniles surrendered to police after being identified as the muggers, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said on Monday, April 18.

A disturbed man who threatened to kill minorities at a New Jersey mall was charged with making terroristic threats and held for a psychiatric evaluation, authorities said.
