Thieves Shatter Windows, Steal Cash From Toms River Restaurants: Police
Two restaurants in Toms River had money stolen from them by brick-wielding thieves overnight, authorities said. In a news release, Toms River police said they were investigating burglaries, thefts, and "criminal mischief" at Breakin Bread Eatery and New York Water Bagel Company. Both restaurants are on Fischer Boulevard. The burglaries happened overnight on Tuesday, Apr. 16, and Wednesday, Apr. 17. Toms River Man Sentenced For Dealing Heroin Throughout Ocean County
A Toms River man was sentenced after admitting to selling heroin throughout Ocean County, authorities said. Zachary Lockwood, 25, was sentenced on Friday, Apr. 5 to 10 years in prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release. He'll be eligible for parole after five years. Lockwood pleaded guilty to possession of one-half ounce or more of heroin with intent to distribute, being a certain person not to possess a weapon, and resisting arrest on Monday, Feb. 12. Car Sought In Toms River Home Burglary
Police in Toms River are looking for whoever stole from a home late at night, authorities said. Toms River police received a report of a home burglary at around 10:26 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, the department said. It happened near Fischer and Cattus Island boulevards. The Toms River Police Department also released a photo on Wednesday, Feb. 14 of a car suspected of being used in the burglary. In the picture, the car appears to be a white sedan. Anyone with information about the burglary or the suspected car should call Toms River police at 732-349-0150, ext. 1292.

A 40-year-old suspended driver in a stolen car led police on a high-speed pursuit through Toms River before crashing into another vehicle stopped at a light, police said. Pedestrian Airlifted After Being Struck By Toms River Police Car
A 42-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck by a Toms River police car Sunday, May 29, authorities said. The man was trying to cross Fischer Boulevard at Adams Avenue when he was struck around 10 p.m., local police said. He was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit responded to the scene. The accident is currently under investigation.

Dead Body Found Hanging In Toms River Woods
Multiple police agencies responded to a report of a dead body found hanging from a tree in Ocean County, authorities said. The body was reportedly found about 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the woods near Fischer Boulevard and Hooper Avenue, according to initial reports.
