Homeland Security Agents, Local Police Bust Brick Resident, 71, With Gun Silencers Federal Homeland Security agents joined Brick Township police in arresting a local man on weapons and counterfeit money charges. Lawrence Turbett, 71, was arrested at his home in the Conway Towers Housing Complex after detectives learned that a package containing a silencer was being shipped to an address in Brick, local police said. A search of his residence found the package, as well as additional silencers and an undisclosed amount of counterfeit U.S. currency, police said.  The U.S. Secret Service was notified. Howell Police Investigate Gun Complaint A complaint about "someone waving a gun" in Monmouth County turned out to be false, and now the caller is under investigation, according to Howell Township police. The incident started in the Point O Woods development, when the caller told police someone was waving a gun out the window of a vehicle on Bergerville Road, police said. The minivan was pulled over near the Howell Township Library. Police investigating the report found the firearms were legally owned and properly secured in locked cases.
