Man Fired Shots In South Jersey 'Motel Corridor', Police Say
A Mays Landing man was accused of firing a gun in a South Jersey area with several motels. Desmon Wilson, 23, was arrested on Friday, June 14, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to a report of fired shots on the Route 30 "motel corridor" just before 10:30 p.m. Police began searching for possible victims in the area. After reviewing surveillance video, Wilson was eventually identified as the suspect and taken into custody. Wilson was charged with several weapons offenses. Investigators said they've found no evidence of any shooting victims. …

An indictment of 16 members of a violent mid-Atlantic crime ring has been unsealed and the federal agencies are naming names. Of the 16, eight of the alleged crime ring members were arrested in the morning on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, police in Fairfax County, Virginia announced later that day. They were all arrested in connection to a violent crime spree that took place between Jan. 7, 2022, through Jan. 27, 2023. The crime ring members were all from Maryland and the District of Columbia. Drunken Ex-Con Fights Police Over Gun On Route 17 After Hit-Run Victim Follows Him From NYC
Hasbrouck Heights police had to fight a combative ex-con to get a gun away from him after he was followed to a Route 17 gas station by the victim of a hit-and-run crash in Washington Heights, authorities said.
