An ex-con with a violent history sexually assaulted a fellow inmate in the Bergen County Jail, authorities charged. Nasir Newsome, 25, of Paterson was being housed in the Bergen County Jail under an overflow agreement with Passaic County authorities after being charged with resisting arrest earlier this year, records show. An off-duty Deptford Township police officer is accused of trying to strangle a woman during a domestic violence dispute, according to published reports. Myron V. Ford, 36, was arrested and charged on Thursday at his apartment by Deptford police, NJ Advance Media says citing court records and a criminal complaint.
