South Jersey Driver Ran Red Light, Killing Teen Baseball Player On Dirt Bike: Report
A 31-year-old woman from South Jersey has been indicted in a crash that killed a 17-year-old dirt bike rider, NJ Advance Media reported.
Catherine L. May, 31, of Hopewell Township, was speeding when she ran a red light on Dec. 23 2020, when she collided with the dirt bike in Deerfield Township, the outlet said.
The rider, Ayden Rodriguez, died of his injuries the next day.
A Cumberland County grand jury indicted May on second-degree counts of vehicular homicide and violation of law intended to protect public health and safety, according to NJ.com

Man Convicted In Dad's Fatal Stabbing Gets 25 Years State Prison: Prosecutor
A 41-year-old South Jersey man has been sentenced to a maximum 20 years in state prison for fatally stabbing his father, authorities said Wednesday.
Michael N. Tedesco, 41, of Millville in Cumberland County also received a five-year prison sentence, to be served consecutively, for a probation violation, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
Tedesco was found guilty by a jury on Oct. 29 of second-degree manslaughter in the slaying of Gary Tedesco, 66, also of Millville, the prosecutor said.

UPDATE: A South Jersey ex-con found with dozens of guns, high-capacity magazines and ammo admitted having others buy guns for him, federal authorities said.
Darick Nollett, 32, who lives in Cumberland County near the Delaware Bay, caught the attention of law enforcement when he bought a “fuel filter” – a device commonly used to silence firearms -- from China, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.
As a convicted felon, Nollett was prohibited from having weaponry, Honig said.
So he got straw purchasers to buy guns for him, she said.

A jury found a 41-year-old South Jersey man guilty of manslaughter in his father's fatal 2019 stabbing, NJ Advance Media reported.
Michael N. Tedesco, 41, of Millville in Cumberland County was convicted Friday in the slaying of Gary Tedesco, 66.

An accused South Jersey killer wanted by police tried to hide the victim's body in grass clippings after the attack, authorities and court documents show.
Brandon Dennis, 29, of Vineland, is wanted on numerous charges including murder, desecration, aggravated assault, terrorist threats and several weapons offenses, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.

A New Jersey driver was indicted by a grand jury on 15 counts in a crash that killed a baby and his parents last year.
Modesto Pino was under the influence and speeding when he ran a stop sign in Vineland, colliding with an SUV on Nov. 1, 2020, authorities said.
The occupants of the SUV were identified as Iban Garcia-Ruiz, 30, his wife, Elisa Perez-Hernandez, 32, and their two children, of Bridgeton, police said.
The children were hospitalized with injuries suffered in the crash, and 1-year-old Ivan later died.
